Im a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer based in NYC since 1997. The music available here is a compilation from 4 full length solo albums that I started making in between various projects from 2003-2013. It was a turbulent and hard fought journey to make these 4 solo albums with my partner in crime and engineering/producing mix master Charlie Martinez.
Major record labels eluded us completely. And despite the efforts of the world class musicians that worked on these records with Charlie and I and many music industry power brokers who were fans andboosters, this music never found a commercial home. "Greatest Hits" is my tongue in cheek way of reimagining history. Theo Records is my long time self published "record label", named after Theo Van Gogh, Vincents brother who gave him a home for his paintings when no one else would pay for them.
I hope you guys enjoy this music as much as we did making it. In my parents garage, in closed recording studios and borrowed time from projects with Gregg Allman, Steely Dan, Donald Fagen and some others we were lucky to work with during this time. You will hear some incredible musicians on these records.I thank each and every one of them for their gifts and friendship. Id also like to thank Frank Piazza at Audiopaint Studios in NYC for giving us a home very time we need one to track and mix. We couldn't have made this music without him and his studio. I did play most of the instruments myself on the first two releases, out of both necessity and the need for creative invention. Heres a list of all the great friends we had along for the ride-

Podcast

In early September 2017, Scott sat down with freelance writer and producer Greg Thompson for a conversation that we have developed into a podcast series. This podcast series offered Scott an opportunity to address a number of topics, including taking listeners inside of the Southern Blood recording sessions, the moment Gregg told Scott about his terminal diagnosis, the writing work involved for My One True Friend and Scott’s last visit with Gregg. The opening segment begins with Scott recalling his very first visit to Macon and the Big House.
